Abstract

Students need mathematics to understand arithmetic concepts to make learning easier. Using the Modified Free Inquiry (MFI) Learning Model, it is hoped that students will try to be more independent in solving problems so that student motivation and learning outcomes are better. Objective: to determine the effect of Modified Free Inquiry learning on learning outcomes, determine the effect of Modified Free Inquiry learning on motivation, determine learning outcomes and motivation and determine the effect of Modified Free Inquiry learning on the learning outcomes and motivation of class VIII students in opportunity material at SMP Negeri 6 Nganjuk.  The research used a quantitative approach in class VIII as many as 30 students. With multiple correlation data analysis. Data obtained from tests and questionnaires. Based on data analysis and hypothesis testing with a significance level of 5%, the Ftable value= 4.2>Fcount= 4.413 Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted. So it is concluded that there is an influence of the Modified Free Inquiry (MFI) learning model on the learning outcomes and motivation of class VIII students on opportunity material at SMP Negeri 6 Nganjuk.
